Your Dream Fairytale Wedding Overnewton Castle was built in 1849 and now stands as a prominent heritage building. This Scottish Baronial-style castle set amidst four acres of private tranquil English gardens makes the perfect backdrop for your special wedding day. You can have pre-dinner drinks in the garden, or be served in the elaborate Victorian Room. The Grand Dining Room is also available, featuring an elegant chandelier and bay window overlooking the picturesque gardens. Whichever room you choose, Overnewton Castle can cater for 50–150 people for a sit-down meal and 200 for a cocktail style reception. Wedding ceremonies and photos can be held in the non-denominational chapel which has exquisite hand-painted features and a glass ceiling, the private gardens, or an original 1882 wrought iron gazebo. They also offer a bridal suite, ‘Overnewton Cottage’ – a stunning double storey retreat perfect for your romantic honeymoon night. The cottage has been meticulously furnished in a contemporary style with luxury in mind, featuring a large oval spa with views of the valley, a king size bed and plasma TV/DVD. The upstairs area has been specifically designed for the bride-to-be and her bridesmaids to use as a dressing room area ideal for hair, makeup and pre-wedding photos. There are two double sofa beds, a bathroom and large dressing room area. Overnewton Castle has been running as a wedding reception since 1961. The Norton family has owned it since 1975 and has a genuine passion for the castle and the special memories it gives to everyone who enters. They are dedicated to making you feel like a princess and your groom a knight in shining armor.
